Left Behind

We are calling on the Marine Corps to mobilize for Sgt. Kevin Lee Lloyd, USMC—and we need your voices to get our plea into the right hands before it’s too late.

Kevin served with Fox Company, 2nd Battalion, 3rd Marines out of Kaneohe Bay, Hawaii. He deployed three times to Iraq and Afghanistan. Like so many others, he was poisoned by the burn pits. His Stage 4 colorectal cancer, now spread to his brain, is 100% service-connected under the PACT Act.

He is 40 years old, nearly blind, and dying from injuries sustained in combat—even if they didn’t come from gunfire. This should be treated no differently than if he were shot on the battlefield. He was poisoned in combat, and now he’s dying from it.

We are at MD Anderson Cancer Center, and we are grateful—but the battle isn’t over. Kevin’s morale is low. He feels forgotten. And our family is breaking under the weight of this.

There is no Marine Corps presence at his bedside. No one helping him get his affairs in order. No one showing his children that their father is a hero. That burden has fallen entirely on me—his former spouse, the mother of his children, and his medical advocate. I am trying to be everything for everyone—and I can’t hold this alone anymore.

If this were happening while Kevin was still active duty, there would be Marines standing watch, helping with logistics, preparing his funeral, comforting his children, making sure he was never alone. But because it’s happening after combat—no one is showing up.

We tell our children: Once a Marine, always a Marine. No man left behind.

But Kevin is being left behind.

We are begging the Marine Corps: Mobilize now.

Bring the men of Fox Company to his side. Help him pass with the dignity he earned. Show him that the Corps still sees him. Help carry this weight before it crushes our family.

We need the public’s help to make this happen. Please share this message. Help us reach Marine Corps leadership and every brother Kevin served with. Spread this to your network. Get it in front of anyone who can act.

Don’t let this Marine die forgotten. Don’t let him be left behind.
