We are overwhelmed—with gratitude, relief, and hope. Because of you—your shares, your comments, your prayers, your refusal to look away—Kevin was transferred to MD Anderson Cancer Center yesterday.

From the moment we walked through the doors, the difference has been night and day. Within the first hour, Kevin was seen by more healthcare professionals than we had encountered in the past week at the VA. Every single person, from the greeters to the nurses to the doctors, has treated him with the compassion, dignity, and urgency he deserves as a combat veteran facing the battle of his life.

Kevin is receiving a full diagnostic workup so we can understand exactly what’s going on with his cancer and explore every possible treatment option. The team at MD Anderson is giving him more than just medical care—they’re giving him hope. For the first time in a long time, we feel like we’re not alone. And while this is just the beginning of a difficult road, we now face it with confidence and a team that is doing everything they possibly can.

We are overjoyed by the support Kevin has received. It has already made a life-changing difference—not just for him, but for what this means for other veterans who deserve the same chance. This is a blessing that we don’t take for granted.

We’ve received so many kind messages, and I want to thank everyone who has reached out. I apologize for not being able to respond to them all yet—I am at Kevin’s bedside around the clock, advocating for him and balancing the needs of our family and our children, all while on an unpaid leave from work. Your messages mean the world to us, and we are doing our best to stay connected.

To help us manage everything, we’ve created a website with updates and a contact form so Kevin’s Support Team can assist in replying to messages while I focus on being present for him. Many people have asked how they can help—thank you. We’ve also created a

GoFundMe to help keep our family afloat during this time. Every donation, every share, every word of encouragement makes a difference.

Please continue to share Kevin’s story. Keep tagging your local news and elected officials.

What happened to Kevin is happening to veterans everywhere, and it has to stop. We are so grateful that Kevin is no longer being forced to suffer in agony, and that he is finally being treated with dignity and given options we were told didn’t exist. It will take time for him to feel safe after all he’s been through, but now the healing can finally begin—physically, emotionally, and as a family.

Thank you for giving Kevin the chance to fight. Thank you for giving our family hope.
